Due to the significant increases in COVID-19 cases in the region, we are pausing our re-opening plans.  The safety of our volunteers and team member are top priority.

Until further notice, the media production facility will be closed for use.

Remote production gear is still available through our equipment loan program.  You must make an advance appointment to check-out any gear.

We are also able to assist you with virtual and remote production systems.  Reach out to Lucy Waters on our team to learn more.

Next phase of re-opening

Public Media Network is moving to the next phase of our re-opening for public use.  Starting October 12, 2020 the main studio will be available for limited use by appointment only.

Due to safety precautions studio use appointments will be available for use from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Saturday appointments are between 10 am – 2 pm. (The Epic Center is still locked on Saturdays, so there is limited access into the building).

Here is what you need to know:

  1. Masks must be worn at all times while in the facility.

  2. No more than 2 people can work at the control room production console.  Masks must be worn and a divider placed between them while operating equipment at the production console. All others must maintain at least six feet distance from the production console and others.

  3. Studio sets must maintain at least 6 feet of separation between any guests.  Masks must still be worn while recording in the study to help with safety protocols.

  4. We will only take one studio appointment per day in this phase to allow for studio cleaning.

  5. You can only make one reservation at a time.  Your next reservation can be made when you complete a reservation.

  6. All crew and studio guests must have a user profile set-up in our facility system to ensure our ability to provide contact tracing information if needed. Current contact information is required to be able to enter the facility or use equipment.

Failure to comply with any of the safety protocols in the facility may result in a suspension of facility use until COVID-19 precautions are no longer required.

Online reservations

We will not be taking online reservations through the producer portal.  Please call us at 269-343-2211 or email Lucy Waters, lwaters@publicmedianet.org or Angela Bailey, abailey@publicmedianet.org to make your appointment.

You will need to set-up a project when making an equipment or facility reservation.  The project must accurately describe the media project your are producing using the facilities and equipment. This helps us to follow-up with you on your progress.

Online Producer Portal

Based on your feedback, we are in the process of changing our online reservation system. We will help you access that system in future phases. We will verify your information in the system when you make your next reservation.

What to know when you come in for facility use/equipment pick-up and return

  • You must have an appointment. No walk-in use will be allowed.  If you are dropping off media, please leave it in the basket on the table outside the center or submit it online.

  • Temperature screenings are required for everyone entering the facility.  You will also need to complete a COVID-19 screening form.

  • All crew and studio guests must have a contact profile set-up in our facility system to ensure our ability to provide contact tracing information if needed. Please allow extra time for this information to be gathered.

  • We have virtual production software other than Zoom that you can use if you prefer to produce outside of the studio for safety precautions. Contact us to set-up training.

  • Number of crew, on-camera hosts and guests for the Main Studio will be limited to a maximum of 8 people.

  • Reservations are for those producers actively creating content for Public Media Network’s distribution platforms.

Thank you for your patience and assistance as we work to maintain safety and take proper precautions based on guidance from health officials.
