Take the PMN Community Information Needs assessment

Public Media Network is circulating a Community Information Needs assessment as a first step to understand how people engage with local media and information.

How do people in our community stay informed about local issues? What stories are missing from our local news media? Where do people share information with others?

These are just some of the questions that Public Media Network is asking to better meet the information needs of the Greater Kalamazoo community.

Public Media Network will begin circulating a Community Information Needs assessment as a first step to understand how people engage with local media and information. With this assessment, we hope to form an understanding of how our media systems can better meet community needs.

Public Media Network is distributing the information assessment survey around the community to reach the greatest number of people possible.

Besides sharing the Information Needs Assessment on our website, through emails and on social platforms, Public Media Network is reaching out directly to neighborhood associations to share the survey in neighborhood newsletters and during community meetings. We will be hanging fliers where people commonly congregate around Kalamazoo and will maintain an in-person presence at local events around the city to meet people where they are at.
