South American Journalists Visit Kalamazoo


Does the President of the United States monitor your channel? How secure are American journalists when it comes to expressing their First Amendment Rights? Prison and even threats of physical harm could be repercussions felt by journalist of South American countries. More than a dozen South American journalists, bloggers, and managers of digital media stopped in for a studio interview at Public Media Network to learn how Americans cover the news.

The participants were part of the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. State Department. They visited various U.S. cities to learn about media. Colleagues International hosted the journalist during their visit to Kalamazoo.
