LGBTQ Community Marks 50 Years Since Stonewall Riots

As June came to a close, the LGBTQ Community came together to remember the Stonewall Riots in 1969.
However, this year is a milestone for the community. 2019 marks the 50th Year since the NYPD raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay nightclub in New York’s Greenwich Village.
Though there were many other protests like this, Stonewall is one of the more notable events that helped catapult the LGBTQ rights movement into the spotlight in the United States.
