Connect: Fire Prevention Week 2016

If you want to become a firefighter your goal is closer than you might expect. All you need is a local Kalamazoo residence, interest in protecting your community, and a drive to complete a few months of training. Connect sat down with Kalamazoo Township’s Fire Chief David Obreiter and Fire Marshal Todd Kowalski to discuss becoming a firefighter, as well as the upcoming Fire Prevention Week.

Remember to change your smoke detectors every 10 years, and the batteries inside them every couple years!
