You might think high school students and elementary school students have few things in common. Seniors at Parchment High School and third graders at Central Elementary School have proved a love of reading can close such a gap.
For five years now, the two schools have partnered up and shared days of reading together. It’s great for the younger kids because they get to come out of their shell a bit and feel more comfortable about reading. The high school students benefit by returning to the place their education began, just before they graduate. All of the older students are able to share stories about their past and provide a little assistance to the younger group. A win-win for everybody!
