The mission of Public Media Network (formerly known as the Community Access Center) is to provide access to electronic media via education, technology, and distribution resources, so that a diversity of local voices can be expressed and heard in the community.
For over 25 years, Public Media Network has provided vital community media services to the greater Kalamazoo area. Public Media Network provides a variety of services and resources to support the development of local, non-commercial radio and cable television programming. Formed in 1981 and serving the communities of Comstock Township, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Township, Oshtemo Township, Parchment and Portage, PMN has evolved into a vibrant community media organization supporting a wide spectrum of viewpoints and interests.
Our services include educational workshops on video production techniques, free use of our television and radio production facilities, and programming distribution on Channels 19, 20, 21, 95 and 99 on the Charter Cable system and WKDS Radio 89.9 FM. We also offer an outstanding internship program that provides valuable work experience for future media professionals.
